The Sitting Duck Bistro

The best daytime restaurant near Gosford.

For locals heading north out of Gosford, the Sitting Duck Bistro is the easiest detour in the region — twenty minutes up the Pacific Motorway, then a short turn onto Peats Ridge Road. What you get at the end of that drive is a kitchen led by Chef Dan, cooking with produce from Central Coast and Hawkesbury growers — vegetables that travelled less to your plate than you did to ours.

The room itself sits on the 18th green of our championship golf course, with timber, sandstone and big windows facing west. It's the kind of place locals book for a Sunday roast, an anniversary lunch, or a long Friday with friends and a glass-or-three of something local. Rated the #1 reviewed Central Coast restaurant.

Getting here

Twenty minutes from the CBD.

From Gosford CBD, the drive runs north on the Pacific Motorway for around ten minutes, then west onto Peats Ridge Road. Native bushland on both sides for the last leg, before the property opens up on the right at 1080 Peats Ridge Road. There's free parking on site for 140 cars.

For most Central Coast suburbs the drive sits between 20 and 30 minutes — so this is comfortably within reach for a long Sunday lunch and home before sunset, or a Friday after-work meal that doesn't feel like an expedition.
